Jim Ramer is an artist, educator and curator. His work spans photography, video sculpture, and installation. Most recently, his work was featured in a solo exhibitions at the Pingyao International Photography Festival and at Jay Etkin Gallery, Santa Fe, NM and in group exhibitions at Photo Auckland, Auckland, NZ, RAWR, Beijing, CN, Singapore Photo, Singapore, Tianjin University of Museum, Tianjian, CN, Red House Gallery in New York City, International Festival of Photography, Photography Speaks in Soul, Korea and in 2009 at the at the Goeun Museum, South Korea. Additional exhibitions include: David Lusk Gallery, Memphis TN, Rupert Goldsworthy Gallery, NY; Randolph Street Gallery, Chicago, Exit Art, New York, Contemporary Museum, MD; Art Workers Plan B Gallery, Memphis, TN, Ole Dominion University, VA; Southern Illinois University, IL. Collections include Asissi Foundation, Promus Corporation, Schering-Plough Inc. He has curated numerous exhibitions and is the former Director of Delta Axis Contemporary Arts Center and a Co Founder of Art Workers Unions Plan B Gallery. He is the founder of the Center for Photographic Media and Culture at Parsons. He has lectured internationally on photography and photographic education most recently at the Society of Photographic Education Southwestern Conference in Denver, Co, New York Photo Festival and the Singapore International Photo Festival. He currently serves as the Director of the MFA in Photography at Parsons the New School for Design in New York City.  He holds an M.F.A. from Memphis College of Art.
